Indiana Daily Student

August 2014-April 2015

Although I only worked for the Indiana Daily Student (IDS) for one school year, I learned a great deal about journalistic writing from this experience. I completed an AP Style Guide exercise and conducted a mock interview with one of the desk editors before writing my first published article. Over the course of the school year, I had the pleasure of interviewing a lacrosse player, a jazz musician, and a dancer, among others. This diversified my knowledge and experience in ways I had not expected; I was much more open to trying new things, and I gained the confidence I needed to successfully interview others.

Below are three articles that I wrote for the sports and arts sections of the student-run newspaper. These articles appeared during the 2014-2015 school year in the overarching "Campus" section of the daily paper.
